Definition and duties of a Table Captain and Assistant Table Captain:

TABLE CAPTAINS: The Table Captain will be responsible for instructing and overseeing the execution of the judging process and are assigned to a table of judges to facilitate the judging process at that table to make sure it runs smoothly, to answer any questions the judges may have and to ensure their judging cards are filled out properly and all the judging rules have been followed correctly. They are also responsible for helping clean up and reset the table with the Assistant Table Captain for the next round.

ASSISTANTS: The assistant Table Captain will help the Table Captains by carefully carrying and transporting the silver platters with the competitor’s entries approximately 20-30 feet from the number-changing table to the judging table, show the display dish for appearance judging to the judges, hold the tray while the Table Captain distributes the samples to the judges, and then will be responsible for taking the platter with the display dish to the photographer for pictures. They are also responsible for helping clean up and reset the table with the Table Captain for the next round.
