United States Coast Guard Returns to World Food Championships as Military Gateway Partner for 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – (June 16, 2025) – The World Food Championships (WFC) is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the United States Coast Guard for the 2025 event in Indianapolis, continuing the Coast Guard’s role as WFC’s official Military Gateway Partner.

For the third consecutive year, the U.S. Coast Guard will send ten (10) culinary competitors to represent the branch at the largest Food Sport event in the world, providing a unique opportunity for service members to showcase their culinary skills on a global stage. As part of this partnership, these elite military chefs will compete across a variety of categories with the goal of earning a World Championship title.

This partnership reached new heights in 2024 with the outstanding performance of Zach Hassilev, a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Culinary Team, who earned the title of World Seafood Champion and represented the Coast Guard proudly at the prestigious Final Table in Bentonville, Arkansas.

“The Coast Guard has become an integral part of our event and Food Sport community,” said Mike McCloud, Founder of the World Food Championships. “Their level of culinary discipline, creativity, and professionalism adds tremendous depth to our competition. Zach’s victory in 2024 reminded the world what Coast Guard chefs are capable of, and we can’t wait to see what this next group will bring to Indianapolis in 2025.”

The World Food Championships will be held October 16-19, 2025, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, where over 400 teams from around the world will battle in ten categories for their share of over $450,000 in prize money.
