Community Bakery
HEAD COOK: Jean Freitas
COMPETITION: World Dessert Championship
My passion for baking started in childhood—as soon as my mom let me use the oven on my own, I was in the kitchen constantly, baking anything I could to feed my sweet tooth. That early love of sweets grew into a lifelong enthusiasm for pastry, eventually leading me to graduate from Pulaski Technical College’s Baking and Pastry program and pursue a career in the food industry. I’ve spent the last several years working in both the production and management sides of food service, including two incredible years in California’s Bay Area, where I had the opportunity to work at the iconic Boudin Bakery, known for its sourdough and artisan bread. I’m currently back home in Little Rock, Arkansas, and proud to be representing Community Bakery in this year’s World Food Championships. Baking has always been more than a career to me—it’s a way to bring joy, create connections, and honor tradition while pushing creative boundaries. Winning the Arkansas Pie Festival was a proud moment, and competing at the World Food Championships represents the culmination of years of hard work and passion. I’m honored to represent Community Bakery and excited to share my skills and love for baking on this incredible stage.
